My name is Allen Kuo. “Kuotient” is just a name that I thought sounded cool and incorporated my last name as a play on the math term ‘quotient’. It had no deeper meaning when I first created an email account with it in 2004, and it still has no deeper meaning today.
I’m a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin (HOOK ‘EM!), currently living in Houston (Clear Lake). Like half the college graduates out there, I’m not really using my degree (B.S. Nutritional Sciences) at all. I’m currently a Student Physical Therapist Assistant at San Jacinto College!
I love being physically active, yet I also spend a lot of time in front of my computer. Sometimes I don’t know if I’d classify myself as ‘active’ or ‘sedentary’! I love the great outdoors, moreso when there’s decent scenery to take in. Being in the presence of mountains or hill country is ideal. I’m also a geek and love electronics.
My passion is bikes. Not motorcycles, but bicycles! I currently work at a local bike shop (legal disclaimer: all content on this blog are my personal thoughts/views, and do not reflect Bike Barn’s stance on anything, blahblahblah). I get paid to get people on bikes, how cool is that?! I’ve biked across the United States twice — San Diego, CA to Pawley’s Island, SC the first time, and Seattle, WA to New York City, NY the second! It was with a great organization based in Minneapolis called Venture Expeditions (CHECK ‘EM OUT). My next dream bike adventure is to do the Tour Divide, a race along the Continental Divide from Banff, Canada, to the Mexican border at Antelope Wells, NM!!
